Bonjour Café and Bistro’s owner Pascal migrated to the United States in 1984, and upon arriving started to examine what was available here and found that there was a missing link, an “Authentic Parisian style Bistro”. Having growing up in the middle of Paris where neighborhood Bistro’s are common, Pascal wanted to share his experience and that unique flavor with the locals of Southern California. After searching for a suitable location for a few years, a friend told him about a vacant space in Dana Point on Del Prado. He looked at the space, felt it was what he was looking for, and opened Bonjour Café & Bistro on March 2, 1992.
Having worked in the food industry in very sophisticated and highly reputed establishments both in Europe and the U.S., Pascal’s passion for cooking plus his desire to make a difference allowed him to grow Bonjour Café & Bistro into what it is today. Since opening Bonjour Café & Bistro, Pascal has kept working daily on maintaining a welcoming, warm and casual place with great quality of food and professional service as well as extending Bonjour Café and Bistros menu to please its many regulars and new visitors.
Bonjour Café & Bistro’s unique menu currently features over 75 Traditional French and French American items. This French American twist sets it apart from other cafés and bistros and keeps customers coming back for more. Some of its best sellers are crepes, quiches, French onion soup, and French toast, which was voted the best French toast in Orange County by Orange County Weekly.
In addition to its great menu and delicious food, Bonjour Café & Bistro prides itself on being a traditional Parisian Bistro, patronized by locals, offering a casual affordable place, with great service. Many of its employees have worked there for 10-15 years and have formed relationships with its customers. Employees know what customers want to order right when they walk in the door. This bond allows its customers to feel like the Café is a home away from home.
